On the eve of his new solo album, he finally revisits this first version: "Marley Original," a raw return to the song's hip-hop DNA and a previously unreleased prequel to a track that has become a cult classic.

Within this collective journey, marked by several gold-certified albums and the extraordinary success of "Marley," a diamond-certified track, Balik has always occupied a unique position: that of a songwriter attentive to human experiences, social divisions, and the complexities of reality.
With his second solo album, D’un monde à l’autre (From One World to Another), scheduled for release on March 12, 2027, he continues along a parallel path without ever severing ties with his initial story. Following Parenthèse (Parenthesis), released in 2019, the focus is less on distancing himself than on connecting, on circulating the lines of force between his different avenues of expression. The project revolves around the central, almost organic, idea of the hyphen. Between the solo universe and the legacy of Danakil, between reggae and hip-hop, between African and European imaginaries that permeate his writing, but also between a fantasized world and rougher realities.

In 2019, I released "Parenthèse," my first solo album. I always knew there would be a sequel. This second project was finding its place. It was waiting for its time and its name. My new album will be available on March 12, 2027, and will be called "D'un monde à l'autre" (From One World to Another). Until then, I'll tell you all about it and share several excerpts with you.
